What’s inside Difflam Kids 6+ Sore Throat Spray?

The active ingredient in Difflam Kids 6+ Sore Throat Spray is benzydamine hydrochloride.

Why benzydamine?

Benzydamine works in the mouth and throat to:1

  • Reduce inflammation and swelling
  • Relieve throat and mouth pain
  • Soothe sore, irritated tissue

The handy spray format delivers targeted relief directly to the sore area, eliminating the need for medicine to travel through the whole body for effect.

Why choose a Sore Throat Spray for Kids?

Kids can be fussy, especially when they are unwell and experiencing a sore throat. As a parent, you often look for options that are designed specifically for kids, taste great and that work quickly for fast relief.

Home remedies for sore throats can be soothing, although they may not relieve the pain. Pain relievers (analgesics) such as paracetamol or ibuprofen can help to temporarily relieve pain associated with colds and flu, and sore throats, however these can take longer to start working. This is because the body must first absorb the medication and circulate it before reaching the targeted site of action.2

Throat sprays provide relief by gently coating the back of the throat with a thin layer of medicated solution, making them an easy, fuss-free option. Sprays are also a helpful option when throat pain is making swallowing uncomfortable or when you want fast- acting relief at bedtime to help your child settle straight back to sleep.
